Marco Island FL
Marco Island can be quiet in the Summer months but in the Winter months, it is like Spring Break in Ft. Lauderdale! The population can go from around 15,000 full-time residents to around 45,000 residents and 'snow birds'. The island is a mixture of Europeans, Northerners, and folks who travel back and forth depending on the season of the year. There are some really great reasons why it is so popular here and in the Naples area.
One of the main draws, of course, are our beautiful white, sandy beaches that boast the best sunsets in all of Florida. In the evenings Residents Beach, as well as the South Beach, become full of visitors who are waiting to see the sun go down over the Gulf of Mexico's horizon.
Reasons We Love Our Island
Another perk of being in this area during the winter is all of the amazing Golf! There are many different grades of courses on and off of the island and some are very close by. We do offer a private golf community named Hideaway Beach that is complete with all of the amenities you could ask for and a fantastic beachfront clubhouse with a pool and restaurants. We also have an 18 hole golf course in the center of the island that is a popular gathering area for locals and guests alike.
Marco Island has a very large percentage of waterfront, so boating and fishing are something a lot of buyers consider when they think of moving to Marco or buying a second home here. Depending on how often and the type of upkeep a potential purchaser wants, a waterfront condo may make more sense than a single family home with its own boat lift.
According to Great Schools, we are rated a 9 out of 10 for city rating. Nice job teachers!
